Tele-Ophthalmology services at Bharatpur Eye Hospital, launched in 2017, have transformed eye care accessibility. Initially using Skype, the service now relies on phone calls and WhatsApp, operating six days a week. Led by Senior Ophthalmic Officer, the service handles around 10 consultations daily, totaling about 2,200 cases annually. With 17 connected eye care centers, this network prevents unnecessary patient visits to the base hospital. The system not only benefits patients but also provides a learning environment for in-charges at the connected centers, enhancing the overall quality and efficiency of eye care in the region.
